СВЕТИ ПАЈСИЈЕ ВЕЛИКИ
 
У Нитријској пустињи
у 4. веку,
процвета као крин,
овај дивни Божији угодник
- Пајсије прозвани Велики,
јер човек беше
а духовно небеса достиже
 
Његово чудесно житије
авва Јован Колов написа,
да сви духовну корист
од житија Пајсија Великог имамо,
коме се много пута
свети пророк Јеремија јави
поучавајући га,
како још овде на земљи
Небесима да се прослави
 
И заиста,
живљаше Свети Пајсије Велики
као ангео у телу,
тако да својим подвизима
удиви васељену целу,
данима постећи,
молитвама демоне изгонећи,
подвигу подвиг додајући,
бог по благодати
а крајње смирен оста,
па се стога удостоји
Највишег Госта
 
Једном га Сам Господ
у пустињи посети
и благослови речима:
Мир ти Пајсије
угодниче мој,
а он не дижући
главу од земље завапи:
Нисам достојан
ове небеске посете,
ал’ га Господ за руку узе
и разговара са овим
дивним старцем
- лицем ка лицу,
као пријатељ
са пријатељем,
чега се само
у своје време,
пророк Мојсије удостоји
на Синају Божијој Гори

SAINT PAISIOS THE GREAT

In the Nitrian desert
in 4th century,
he blossomed like the lily,
this wonderful God's servant
- Paisios, called the Great,
for he was a man,
but spiritually he reached the heavens.

John Kolobos wrote about his
wondrous life,
so that we all could have
spiritual benefit
from the life of Saint Paisios the Great
to whom the Prophet Jeremiah
appeared many times, teaching him
how to be glorified by the Heavens
while still being here on earth.

And truly,
Saint Paisios the Great lived like
an angel in the body,
astonishing the entire world
by his ascetic feats,
fasting for days,
casting out demons by his prayers,
adding one feat to another,
god by grace
yet remaining wholly humble,
and so becoming worthy
of the Most High Visitor.

Once the Lord Himself
visited him in the desert
and blessed with the words:
Peace be upon you,
my servant,
and he, not lifting his head
off the ground, cried out:
I am not worthy
of this heavenly visitation,
but the Lord took him by his hand
and conversed with this
beautiful elder face to face,
like a friend to a friend,
which, in his time,
only the Prophet Moses
became worthy of,
on Sinai the Mountain of God.
